Fish Species
I guide for the *following fish species (Click on any link below to learn more):
Chinook Salmon
Chinook Salmon or King Salmon
The king salmon is probably the most sought after fish of the salmon species.
They are the largest and bigger is better.
Whether in salt or fresh water they will not disappoint the fisherman.
Coho Salmon
Coho Salmon or Silver Salmon
The silver salmon is known for its areal displays.
They are smaller than the kings but are way faster and can be a challenge to keep the line tight.
Chum Salmon
Chum Salmon or Dog Salmon
The chum salmon are rarely caught in the ocean and in the local rivers.
Pound for pound these fish hold their own when it comes to landing one.
Sockeye Salmon
Sockeye Salmon or Red Salmon
The sockeye salmon is not caught in the ocean.
We do get sockeyes in the Sol Duc river.
They go up to Lake Pleasant to spawn.
Pink Salmon
Pink Salmon or Humpback Salmon
The pink salmon are caught in the ocean on odd years.
They just run every other year.
We only see these fish in the ocean.
They do not spawn in the local rivers.
Atlantic Salmon
Atlantic Salmon
The Atlantic salmon I do not know much about as we don’t see them in our local waters.
I don’t personally know of anyone who has caught one on this side of the country.
Steelhead
Halibut
Tuna
Ling Cod
Sea Bass
